Hi Friends, The Ferrport Jazz Ensemble is kicking off its fifth season at Old Flame Brewery in Port Perry.

Our Story: The Ferrport Jazz Ensemble started off as a garage band during the COVID Summer of 2021. You remember: that summer all rehearsals stopped, all venues closed, and there was no where to play.

So, a few friends checked the COVID restrictions, lifted the garage door to let in fresh air, cleaned out the garage and measured  how many musicians could jam with 8 feet apart. Nine was the magic number. Every week, we invited folks we didn’t know off of Facebook and invited them to a jam. By the middle of August, neighbours and their friends were picnicking on the local lawns for the Thursday Covid Concert, and at the end of the summer, we moved inside, and have been going ever since.

We are grateful to the good folks at Old Flame, who share the same value on local community and relaxed friendships.

The FJE is very pleased to kick off our fifth season right here in our lovely town—and not in the Garage! Hope to see you there!
